FALL WEDDING PLACE CARD HOLDER

These are some of my favorite designs. They give you a the freedom to be creative. The swirls come without a base and can be used in fruit, small potted plants, cupcakes, and my favorite the mini pumpkins. They work great for place card holders as well as buffet markers. I can custom make these in different heights to accomodate your needs.

Light up my life

There are so many ways to light up your special day. These are some of my absolute faves. The vintage chandelier looks great in an outdoor setting as well as indoors. If you notice the bottom picture, the lights are wrapped around the rustic columns to give a woderful elegance. Simple tea lights are great for giving a soft romantic glow. So many choices!!

Rustic Tables

Peas in a PodWhat caught my eye in this inspirtation board is the wonderfully rustic tables as a focal point. That is what we are all about at The Funky Shack. One of my current projects(actually it is my talented husbands project) is making tables from reclaimed wood. We have some beautiful wood from an old 1800's house that we lived in for about 6 years. Someday I will share that story with my readers. Back to the tables, I will share pictures with you as soon as the first table is crafted.

Oliver

NEW MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY

We would like you to meet Oliver!!!!!! He joined our family last night. I forgot what is was like to have a puppy, but quickly remembered when I didn't get to bed until 4am. Have I gone crazy? We will also be adding another dog this week so that both of my boys can have their own playmate. It could actually lead to some interesting stories for my blog. I will keep you posted on our new adventure!!!

OH, YUMMY CORN!!!!

There is something about fresh corn on the cob that says summertime and family. I remember as a little girl the sound of the big paper bag rustling as my Dad would come through the front door with his arms full of corn. It was more than just dinner, it was an event. The three of us girls would go out on the back deck and help Dad peel back the layers of husk. As I sat out yesterday with my three children and my nephew, it warmed my heart to know that I was creating a memory and not just making dinner! Oh, how much fun they had peeling the layers of the husk and feeling the cool smooth yellow kernels. This biggest prize of all was watching their little hands wrapped around the ends of the cob as they made their way around the cob not leaving one kernel behind. So when you are thinking about what to cook for dinner tonight, make a memory not just dinner!
